Get involved!

Working all day for 25 cents. Many children have no choice but to work to help to support their families.

Children in Cambodia are suffering quietly. There is no ballooning bellies or skeletal babies shown on our TV-screens. Still, Cambodia is one of the worst countries in the world to grow up in. And one of every eight children never survive past their fifth birthday.

The effects of the Khmer Rouge are still felt today. The general level of knowledge and education is abysmal, largely due to the fact that the Khmer Rouge tried to kill anyone with an education. Aid is not lacking in Cambodia. Billions have been poured into the country since 1980. However, most of it have ended up in the pockets of corrupt officials.

All funds raised by the Help the Cambodian children charity goes straight to the children. We are an organisation run completely on a voluntary basis. And you can help!

Donate and spread the word

  • Donate money today!
  • Learn more about the plight of the Cambodian children so you can tell your family, friends and colleagues and they too can get involved.
  • Download and print posters and leaflets to inform others about our charity so they too can donate. Place them at your work place, in nearby shops and message boards.
  • – or collect money during the coffee break at work, at your team meeting or in your church.
  • If you have a web site, download our buttons. Put one on your site and show your support!
  • Create an event to raise money! It can be a sponsored walk, a soccer game, a charity dinner. You decide! Talk to us about it.

Help us in person

If you are in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, or plan to travel there, you can help in person. At the Goodwill school we need all educational and medical skills we can get. You can also just come by and sit in on a lesson. Hearing English spoken with a good accent helps our students a lot!

Donating goods

We have received many questions if we accept gifts of childrens clothes, toys, shoes etc.  Unfortunately we are unable to accept such donations due to Cambodian custom tariffs. It can cost several hundred dollars to clear a few boxes from customs. Since goods in general are so much cheaper in Cambodia than in Europe and the US, it is better that you donate money.

However, if you are travelling yourself to Sihanoukville we gladly accept reading and writing books, art and craft materials, puzzles and games etc. for the Goodwill school.
